A cash purchase means buying with your own funds.

Buying without borrowing does not necessarily mean paying with physical banknotes. Ask for a statement separating the unit price, registration, transaction and currency costs. Confirm the accepted settlement method and the recipient’s identity before transferring money.

Does a cash purchase remove source-of-funds checks?

No. Buying without a mortgage does not remove identity and source-of-funds checks. Physical cash and money derived from crypto are subject to specific rules. Retain evidence of the savings, sale proceeds or other resources used, along with payment receipts.
